School Academic Calendar
THE SCHOOL ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The school strictly abides by the government stipulated calendar and also the Catholic Diocesan Education Department Calender, which are always in tandem with our government educational policies and plan. Immaculate Heart Secondary School, Uga, had the following below as her organized calendar still in line with the government and Diocese as viz –:
1. Normal teaching and learning takes place every Monday to Friday of the week.
2. The School does not have Morning Assemblies on Tuesdays and Thursday of the week, due to allocation of time to other vital educational activities in the school Time-Table.
3. An organized school Time-Table exists in the school.
4. 1st Tuesdays of every month is meant for Club presentation of their educational knowledge gained in their respective clubs. The school had an organized club meeting every Tuesday, from 1.10 pm to 2.30 pm. The following clubs are in existence, Young Disciples Club, Road Safety Club, Debating Club, Dramatic Club, Science Club, Cultural and Music Club, the School Press Club and School Choir. These mentioned clubs are functional in our school.
5. Every first Thursday of the Month – Group of Schools usually have common moral instruction cum Mass at the Church premises just close to the said schools.
6. Immaculate Heart Secondary School, usually commence her evening lesson, one week after resumption of any new term.
7. School usually has Moral Instructions for the entire family, usually conducted by the school Manager and the Rev. Sr. sent to the school to do that or at times Y.C.S.N Executives do conduct it with their meeting.
8. The school in question usually organizes extra – holiday lesson for her exam classes of JS 3 and SS 3 for every 2nd and 3rd term Holidays.
9. School also organize for her SS 3 Students, University preparatory Lessons for Jamb or UTME, via the school head the lesson used to come up every SAT. – 4pm – 6pm, ie, 2 hours for different subject areas.
10. School also organizes for her students, excursions to places of worth and education.
11. School sporting Events used to come up every Friday or Manual Labour as case may be.
12. School kept her promotion to a new class for her Junior Secondary.

JUNIOR SECONDARY
A = Distinction = 75% and above B = Credit = 60% - 69% C = Pass = 45% - 59% D = Fail = Below 45%
SENIOR SECONDARY
A = Distinction = 70% and above B = Credit = 55% - 69% C = Pass = 40% - 54% D = Fail = Below 40%
Note Well: For a student to be promoted to a new class, those requirements must be met as viz:
i. Five credits must be scored with Mathematics and English Language for all Students
ii. An average score from the whole subjects must be up to 45% and above for Junior Secondary Students and 50% and above for Senior Secondary Students.
